International
trade mark filing.
Extend your trade mark protection beyond Ireland and the EU. The Madrid Protocol allows a single WIPO application to designate multiple countries. Direct national filings — including the USA — are also available.
The Madrid System, administered by WIPO (the World Intellectual Property Organization), allows a trade mark owner to file a single international application and designate protection in up to 130 member countries — including the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, and many others.
A base national or EU trade mark is required before a Madrid application can be filed. The international application is filed through the base office (IPOI for Irish marks, EUIPO for EU marks).
WIPO fees depend on the countries designated and the number of classes. Each designated country carries a separate fee. We calculate the total cost and provide a fixed-fee quotation covering our professional fee and all WIPO official fees before any work begins.
USA — DIRECT FILING (USPTO)For US trade mark registration, we file directly with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). William Crean is an admitted Attorney in California and can advise on US trade mark strategy directly, without referral to a US agent.
Our fixed fee for a US trade mark application is €3,000 + VAT for two classes. USPTO official fees are quoted separately. Additional classes are quoted on request.
